The red in the sky is ours
I borrowed the title of this At the Gates classic album (well, at least for those involved in this kind of music) to entitle this post as it bustles in flak fire!
Truth is that I recently built a brand new list for my Imperial Fists, based on Lysander of course but trying to fit in as many new toys as I could, including the love them or hate them Centurions.
Having with no more than 70 pts left, the Hunter was an obvious choice to have something in my army to defend against enemy air support. After quite a few games with it I can say that it is a decent choice but nothing ground breaking and definitely you need more than one to have any chance of bringing anything down.
One thing I love about this kit though is that the sprue allows you to build both the options for the Hunter and the Stalker with no conversion work whatsoever (you only need to skip placing a small antenna...) something which surprised me positively as I definitely didn't expect such a kit from Games Workshop. Having this in mind, I decided to build both options at the same time. Here are the results.
As always your comments and/or remarks are greatly appreciated! Don't forget to leave me a vote on CoolMiniOrNot as well
and of course the main inspiration for the title... till next time, take care!

Deep Striking!!
Busy as always, here is the first thing I promised I had almost ready in my previous post!
Nothing fancy here, just regular paintjob to fit the rest of my Imperial Fists army! I would love to hear what you think and check it out on CoolMiniOrNot if you like!
I also don't know why but I find the latest Running Wild record really cool! :P

Shit just got real...
Be ready for some stompin' action in the near future!
I also got some stuff waiting for the paint to dry in my desk, so keep your eyes peeled!
In the meantime, take a listen to these guys

Imperial Fists Centurion Devastators
One thing is for sure! I absolutely love Tournaments for one main reason... its the best motivation to paint things!
I have just returned from a great Tourney, the results are not important. The most important thing is that I finally managed to finish building some new stuff for my Imperial Fists, and trying a new list. The result of my progress is of course the brand new-love them or hate them- Centurions.
It has been AGES since I last finished something I was working on. If you happen to follow my blog you may have noticed that I have started so many projects the past few months, from Fantasy to Greek mythology ... all these will probably finish some day but for now the 40K train got me on board again.

Tabletop quality guys but they should be ready for today so I had to rush them a bit. Anyways, tell me what you think!
and finally some music to keep the good mood going! Till next time, take care!

Imperial Fists Centurions WIP
Hello everybody!
It has been such a roller-coaster ride the past month...work and some renovation work done in my house kept me away from anything hobby related. But this is about to change as I am preparing myself for yet another tournament in a couple of weeks.
The new Space Marine Codex brought some shiny new stuff but it also brought a hefty point increase in my favourite Lysander-Termies list. Therefore I decided to update my list and try some of the new toys I have in my arsenal...
This is the final version of my list and after a few playtests I think I really get to like it!
I would really like to hear your opinions on my list.
This means though that I need to build new things, starting with the brand new, love them or hate them, Space Marines Centurions. I must admit that they are an extremely difficult unit to play, as much as they are extremely difficult models to like as well! But I am determined to give them a chance and I think that the Land Raider combo is the only viable solution to play them.
So I have started to build them, straight from the box, and as always I have tried to make a fancier base. The new round base gives plenty of room for scenic details. A pleasant surprise was that I was finally able to use bits from GW's basing kit with these new bases
I pretty much followed the kits instructions so far, only thing I added extra was some photo etched logos from FW's sheet
So, I would love to hear what you think! Keep your eyes peeled for more!
As always some music for inspiration!

Velerefontis, a new project
Hello to everyone
After a long time I am able to get my free time together and pick up my brushes and glues again! There are literally (well not exactly but you get the idea! :P ) a ton of things waiting to be finished in my desks (see my last project of Karl Franz to get an idea) but I have decided to start on a brand new project, mainly because there is a modelism competition at the end of the month and I want to take part on it, but not entering something out of my existing collection. I would rather enter something new and I have exactly the entry I want in my mind ;)
I don't know how many of you are familliar with Greek Mythology. Its a magical place of myth and wonder and I had the idea of making something out of these myths as a project one day. And then browsing through the internets one day it struck me... the myth of Velerefontis slaying the mythical Chimera, click on the link if you are a greek reader or google it for more if you are not, I couldn't find a decent english text about this myth .. :/
The general concept of the myth is that Velerefontis, a greek hero. bestowed power from the Gods and most importantly, a magical beast, Pegasus which he used to kill a horrible beast, Chimera.
I wanted to use the gorgeous model of The Terror of Fortriu, for a long time now and I think that this is the perfect chance for me to do so. The other thing that I wanted to achieve with this piece is to create detachable bases for the models, so that I can use them for gaming purposes as well. Tough decision but I think that I will pull it through.
The Pegasus model is the one I had been preparing for Karl Franz, but now I think he will have Velerefontis ride him when Karl is sleeping :P I am still searching for the rider to be Velerefontis but I think I have something on my mind...
Here is my progress so far. More to come shortly, as I am struggling to finish this by the end of this month!
Hitting my inspiration decks are classical and mythical tunes!

Weird Quest - Trouble in Grouse Beak [Review]
I would like to share something amazing with you, although not strictly hobby related.
I had the privilege to have an exclusive first time look at the beginning of a comic book series that a friend of mine just started publishing as an eBook and print on demand.
Graphically the comic is an eye candy! Panagiotis' unique drawing style is everywhere bringing the looney characters and the colorful Fantasy world to life. The story is hilarious with a punchline waiting in every scene.
So if you are up to a really funny, action packed, colorful comic book at a steal of a price, then don't hesitate one second... this one is for you!!
You can get it from amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E0PBRXK/ref=cm_cr_mts_prod_img&tag=s601000020-20
or from Drive Thru Comics here: http://comics.drivethrustuff.com/product/117053/Weird-Quest-Trouble-in-Grouse-Beak

the Empire strikes back
My relationship with Warhammer Fantasy was always a weird one. Is like having this really cool relative that you love so much but you rarely get to see or visit, you always learn news though and try to contact him as much as you can.
I don't know if I managed to give you a picture here or I confused you more but the thing I'm trying to say is that I love this game so much but due to a bunch of reasons, I don't get to play or paint Fantasy any more... which is really sad cause I absolutely love my 2 main armies... Skaven and The Empire
If you happen to follow my blog here, you may have noticed some articles in the past talking about my never ending Skaven project. But I recently noticed that my blog doesn't contain any reference on my aeons old Empire project, as well as my single most favorite creation of all times, my Steam Tank Invictus. Another thing that makes it even weirder is that I got the model on my blog's banner from the beginning but I never got the chance to show it fully (unless you've seen it over in Coolminiornot or Deviantart)
Anyways... cutting the story shorter I would like to present you my Empire stuff!
Follow the links on the bottom to leave a vote in CoolMiniOrNot if you like!
The slideshow below shows some more projects that were left unfinished giving you an idea on what I would like to do with my models and what a big fan I am of the gun powder of Nuln :P
With all these said and done its easy to say that I got my Empire fever getting high again! I really need a break from all my 40K projects so get ready for a new Empire update really soon! ;)

Better late than never
Hello to everyone!
Its been a while again since my latest post and I have been stalling my hobby progress yet again... work and a terrible loss of inspiration, combined with a hefty temperature raise led me to the inevitable pause of any activity and project. Hopefully I will be able to change this situation next week, thinking of doing something radical for a change...
About a week ago I took part to a really nice local 40K Tournament, full of nice terrain, people, armies and atmosphere, the Independent Club Tournament. This time in conjunction with the main event, was organised a painting competition full of quality entries from various talented Greek artists, you can see some pictures of the whole event over their Facebook page
I have decided to enter the competition with some of my models as well and I have managed to earn the 1st place for my Marshall Durak Rusk Conversion
In the meantime, maybe leave me a vote for Mr Rusk in CoolMiniOrNot if you haven't already! ;)
Last but definitely not least, an extremely cool playlist for your early summer enjoyment! Take care!!

Riders of the storm
Hello everyone once again.
Another busy month is passing by and this means that hobby time gets cropped. This, combined with the fact that I got a little stuck in my inspiration, lead to the inevitable delay in my follow up post regarding my latest Death Guard squad, the Legion Jetbikes.
I intend to make my Jetbike squadron as unique as possible, creating individual conversions for each model. The first model I created was based on the great Jetbike from Kromlech, a somewhat straightforward coversion. I used the stock model with the only exception of the Heavy Bolter from the Imperial Guard Heavy Weapons kit fitted on top (although I had to saw off the lovely targeting system) to match the rules of the Horus Heresy Army list and of course the rider.
The rider was made using bits from 3 different companies, Games Workshop Space Marine Legs, Anvil Industries torso from their steam lords range (great alternative pre-heresy material) and Forgeworld helmet, shoulder pads and backpack.
I have been meaning to use a specific kit for my next Jetbike, the Dystopian Legion Jetbike mainly because I just love the model. Truth is I didn't realise that it would need so much work to bring it to Warhammer status. It is significantly smaller than any other Jetbike model out there, and it has a weird angle due to its different propulsion system that comes from underneath the vehicle. Great idea but it doesn't fit with what I want my bikes to look like. So I decided to make some heavy changes on this one..and the result was something like this
The main body of the Dystopian bike was used as well as many of the bits that came with it. I also used many bits from a small company called Ramshackle Games, it has a great range of all sorts of vehicle bits that can be used in any kind of conversion and they served really great as exhaustion pipes here giving that streamline look I was searching for. To finish things up for the front of the vehicle, I added a Heavy Bolter underneath taken from a Land Speeder kit this time, sawing off the targeter to make it more fitting to be glued upside down.
the only thing that was still bothering me was the rear of the bike. I was really stuck out of ideas, when suddenly my eye fell to an old 1:72 airplane kit I had lying around in my workshop (good thing to have stuff lying around, its a great inspiration!). I realized that I could use the front end of the hull as it had these nice little exhausts coming out as well as the tail wings. Some hacking, slashing and sanding minutes later and the result was a new tail for my jetbike and my flying Frankenstein was ready :P
The bases are created using an old basing kit from Games Workshop. I found them perfect to create a flying base out of these, drilling a steel wire in the middle and finishing the whole thing with rubble.
2 finished, 2 more to go... stay tuned for more updates soon as I take a break from intense converting and take these to the painting booth! I would love to hear what you people think!
Musical inspiration could only be that song! Till next time, enjoy!!

Last but definitely not least I used my technique for creating greenstuff tubing as in my Chaos Helldrake Conversion which can be revised mostly in one picture!
The rider was made using the same bits as with my other conversion. I also used my greenstuff tubing technique (see above) to make some power cords connected to the rider to add to the overal "deathguard-ey" feeling as with the other conversion.
