Not the update that I expected for my 100th post...

...but it will have to do since it has been ages since my last update and I am in a desperate need of a new one!

so yay!! I reached post 100!!

It has been a very busy past month. Work is sucking all my free time and energy like a leech and on top of that I have a move that is currently going on so I have to pack stuff and change some things... for better though! When I am finished, I will have my own personal man cave the way I always dreamed of. I would love to see how you people have organised your personal painting spaces! I have seen several good examples around the net but it would be nice to hear from you personally!

On a modelling perspective, I am totally thrilled with 2 things lately! The Horus Heresy release from Forgeworld and the Chaos release from GW! You are already familiar with my Death Guard project (if not, make a small search in this blog ;) ) and now I will have more Death Guard goodies to play with, not to mention my own primarch at last!! :D

Here's a shot of my Death Guard project so far, have these laying around my workbench for such a long time but I don't have the time nor the space to finish them... :(

On the Chaos side of things, I am gathering resources for my post-heresy Death Guard army, my next big project! Keep your eyes peeled for more info... I have a ton of ideas, not sure how many will see the light of day :P

I have been listening to a lot of music lately, not for inspiration but for keeping me awake :P

Take care till next time! :)

Pre-Heresy Death Guard Mk1 Land Raider Barbarus

Taking a break from my Imperial fists and all this yellow, I decided to finish some of my Death Guard vehicles, starting with my all time favorite, the old school Mk1 Land Raider.

By the time Forgeworld released all this great preheresy material, I decided to build one of my all time favorite chapters, the Death Guard.

As with all my projects, this started quite a while ago but I'm glad that I find the time eventually to finish off some models, the first one being Captain Garro

I decided to go with a massive weathering adding to the fluff of the Death Guard having equipment that wasn't shiny or clean, but it worked perfectly. Moreover, I wanted to have the feeling of this being an ancient machine of death, seen countless battles.

The model is heavily converted from the original Mk1 Land Raider kit, you can find some WIP pics somewhere in my blog...

I would really like to hear what you think on this one, as this is a test model as well for the rest of the vehicles and of course maybe leave me a vote on CoolMiniOrNot as usual!

As a sidenote to this post, I would like to thank the guys over Bell Of Lost Souls for featuring my Furioso Dreadnought in a great article about the future of CC Dreads on 6th edition

The music of this post is inspired by my endless struggle to produce descent photos of my models :P

Small feedback update!

Hello!

I don't usually post things about the feedback I get from my painted minis, but I must add this tidbit of information as this is a dream came true for me. I managed to get one of my minis the Caestus Assault Ram to the top miniatures submitted in CoolMiniOrNot the past week...

I have been dreaming this ever since I started submitting miniatures in CMON. I know its not such a big deal but I wanted to share it with you and of course a very BIG THANK YOU to all of you that voted, commented and maybe shared my miniature!

On a similar sidenote, Stahly's Tale of Painters AWESOME blog featured my Caestus along with other great works!

Last but not least, I finally managed to break the 100 milestone of subscribers to my blog! A big thanks to every single one of you people!

I am really happy with all the feedback I get, and it really makes me inspired to keep on making stuff! Keep your eyes open for future updates! :)

Summer time mood on! XD

Imperial Fists Caestus Assault Ram

Hello to everyone!

As promised I have been busy lately, and although everybody near me prefer to doze off in some beach these days, I just have this urge to finish off as many things possible for my Imperial Fists army. I have been so excited about this model ever since it came out, and it had just been in its bag for so long...but with all this flyer madness that came over me since the 6th edition came out, I have decided to finish it at last!

So without further delays, I present to you my Caestus Assault Ram for my Imperial fists Army!

This model just screams Space Marines. I love every single bit of it! And with all these flying rumors of Forgeworld stuff going official soon, this bad boy will be a definite part of my army list!

As with all my vehicles, I went for a really weathered look, and this model really deserves it to show all the details and of course justifying its ramming functions ;)

The photos could have been better but focusing onto such a huge model is a real pain...

The base is done the same way as my Stormtalon  and hopefully I will make a small tutorial on how I made it in a future post!

As always I would love to see your votes on CoolMiniOrNot http://www.coolminiornot.com/310111 and of course hear your comments and remarks!

...and I don't really know what got into me but I have this track stuck on repeat the past few days :P

Imperial Fists Stormtalon

Hello to everyone!

So here I am, getting dynamically back on track, rebuilding my Imperial Fists force (or rather adding more choices to my existing army) since all this 6th edition goodness came out! I must say that I am quite excited about the new ed. Although not having a lot of experience with the new rules yet, I played a game last night with a good friend of mine and I must say that I came to some nice conclusions. One of these is that Flyers are something really cool! :P

Having all these in mind, I decided to add some flying punch to my Fists... starting with the brand new Stormtalon! I don't know about you but I love the Apache-meets-Space-Marines feeling of it. and this little fella packs quite a few punches in his arsenal.

Overall I'm quite happy with the result, although I had an accident with the varnish, that destroyed the clear plastic of the cockpit... :S In the end I had to paint it over and lose all the painted details on the inside ... oh well, I will be more careful with the next one...!

Next thing would be also a flyer... something I was planning on doing a long time... stay tuned ;)

I would be more than happy to hear what you think and maybe leave me a vote in CoolMiniOrNot? http://www.coolminiornot.com/309561

As for the tunes accompanying me in this build .. well summer time Flogging Molly all the way! enjoy! XD
