Space Ork Wazdakka Gutzmek conversion

Hello everyone!

Following my latest ork craze I have decided to revisit some of my ancient conversions that I feel very proud of. If you follow my little piece of the internet here more regularly, you may have already noticed my Ork Mek Jetbike I have posted some time ago.

This time I took the time to modernize a conversion so old, that it is not valid with the current fluff anymore but I don't give a rats ass about that :P

I present to you, my version of Wazdakka Gutzmek, the infamous Evil Suns speed freak

Space Orks Evil Sunz Mek on deff-jetbike

Hello everyone!

Being on a creative spree I have decided to finish my latest project, something which I had a hard time deciding what eventually is, untill you people gave me a revelation. I present to you Mek Gitfixa on his deff-jetbike.

This model has started as a project more than 10 years ago. Yes, you heard that right. It has been sitting on my bench on various stages for more than a decade. It originally started as a count as deffcopta, back when they were first introduced as a unit choice. I wanted to field some but it was impossible to find a model since the only alternative was the original gorkamorka model which was even then extremely rare and oop.

I had always a great thing for conversions, especially orky ones. Orks were my very first Warhammer army and it really got me into modelling and converting all sorts of waky vehicles and individuals. So I decided to rummage my bits box for suitable bits to create a deffcopta model to use in my games.

The main model I used was an old Warzone jeep model (I really don't remember what model though, I will make my research and I will edit this article so keep an eye on this space, unless someone out there finds out earlier so please comment below if you remember :) ). The jet packs are 2nd edition ork pulsa rokkits, the chainsaws in front are Catachan saws from the Catachan Sentinel set, Rokkets are from an 1:48 figher jet kit and various bits from the ork boys sprue, includng the Mek boy itself, with sculpted googles to add character. There are various sculpted parts in the model to integrate all bits seamlessly in the final model.

I went with a typical Evil Sunz paint sceme, staying true to the mythos that Red ones go fasta, a machine like this must definitely go faster than anything else this Mek has ever created, although it will probably kill him eventually. I have tried some flame patterns and checkers both freehand and transfers to add to the final orkyness.

So there you have it. My first finished ork project for a long time, and I hope definitely not the last. I would love to hear what you people think. If you have any questions concerning the overall conversion process I would be happy to help so feel free to hit me with anything in the comments below. As always I would love to see your votes on CoolMiniOrNot

Till next time, take care!

Adeptus Arbites Suppressor squad WIP

Hello everyone!

Following my previous posts over my Adeptus Arbites project I would like to show you my Suppressor squad. I wanted to create a squad using the lovely heads I got over a long time ago from Maxmini miniatures and the shields I got from Zinge Industries.

For the leader of the squad I used the limited edition event only Forgeworld Imperial Enforcer. A lovely miniautre that I can't wait to get it painted!

For the rest of the conversion, I used Space Marines Scout legs, Cadian torsos and various hands from space marines and Cadians with greenstuff to achieve the pose I wanted. Finally the power mauls are made from Berzerker chainaxes and power axes, with the axe chopped off. I finished the models using resin bases from Models and Minis.

I still want to add some things before I get them to the painting table, but they are more or less finished. I would love to hear what you think.

Adeptus Arbites Supressor finished

Hello everyone!

Following my last post I managed to finish my Adeptus Arbites Suppressor. I am really pleased with how it turned out, I think it has the urban feeling I was going for, plus the Maxmini police heads really make the commander stand out!

If you like it please leave me a vote on CoolMiniOrNot  and as always comments and remarks are more than welcome!

Adeptus Arbites Suppressor ~ WIP

Hello everyone!

Back from the dead once again, and back to Warhammer 40K themes because old habits die hard :P

This time I decided to revisit one of my many projects, my Adeptus Arbites.

Some of you may have already seen my Arbites Precinct I have done, the rest of you just follow the link ;) ! It is also nominated to be part of the Coolminiornot Annual 2014 so a big thanks to everybody for voting for me!

Back to todays project, I have decided to make a vehicle to accompany my Arbites squad. I have always loved one of Mike McVey's old conversions for an Arbites' vehicle, some of the older people around here may have remembered this little gem:

So after an extensive rummage through my bitz box and a paper chimera I had made aeons ago as a base, the end result is something like this

As always with my conversions, I have used a truckload of bits from around the globe and from various manufacturers, too many to try to mention them all now. If you have any questions I would be glad to answer them.

Now its time to bring this baby to the painting booth. As always comments are more than welcome!

Death Guard Grave Warden Terminators Conversions

Hello everyone!

It has been a quite a while since I have posted anything about my Death Guard project but I have always been keeping a very close eye on everything Forgeworld releases on Horus Heresy. I have therefore decided to change this by completing a project I had in mind for some time now, making a squad of Grave Warden Terminators.

When I initially started creating my Death Guard army, Forgeworld had just released their Mk2 and 4 armor sets, along with some other cool stuff like the Contemptor Dreadnough. At that time there was no army list available to play these miniatures so I had decided on creating an army based on the Space Marines codex. That said, many things had to be changed so as to be compatible with the Space Marines Army list, and one thing that I really wanted to create was a Terminator squad. At that time I really liked playing with Assault Terminators with Thunder Hammers and therefore the result was something like this...

I had converted some old plastic Terminators using bits from various companies (Chapterhouse studios and MaxMini to name a few, check out my original post here ) This was the original state of the models before the conversion.

That was a long time ago. A lot of things have changed since then, Forgeworld has released 3 Horus Heresy books and boy, did the options available have changed too! There was no longer any need for Thunder Hammer Assault terminators in my army, so I have decided to make a (not so small after all) change of the models to something completely different, Grave Wardens.

For those of you not familiar with the unit, Grave Wardens are a Death Guard specialist Terminator squad armed with grenade launcers and a variety of toxic warfare weapons. More on their fluff can be found here. Foegeworld has released a set of very nice models that you can see here . I have decided though to spare me the money and go for a conversion of the already available models I had.

This was the look I was going for converting my own Terminators.
The models have a great feral look with fur pelts and chains hanging from beneath the shoulderpads and this is what I wanted to achieve. I used greenstuff and some chain bits from the Flaggelants sprue and I think the result came out nicely. The combination of the great MaxMini shoulderpads and the fur pelts and chains give a nice result. Next step was to make the torso look a bit beefier and I had the right way to do so. A good friend an fellow moddeler had given me one of his spare bass guitar strings (he is a very talented bass guitar player among other things) quite a long time ago and this was the perfect oppprtunity to use it.

Another thing that I had to take care was the back of the models. Their fluff wants their equipment to be toxic and Forgeworld's models have canisters of phosphus and other toxic warfare ammunition on their backs. I used a variety of bits for that fron cadian flamers to grey knights weaponry.

The other big conversion on the models was the weapons. Grave Wardens' main armament is a specially designed grenade launcher. I created this by using Cadian grenade launchers and terminator assault cannons with the cannon chopped off. The heavy flamer is an old school Terminator heavy flamer and the sergeant has a combi flamer made from a really old Warzone gun and a hand flamer.

Lastly the final touch would be the Death Cloud projectors on the top. This was a rather easy addition, just using bits of plastic rod.

I must say that I really like how these came out. I managed to make some models I would never use, useful again, incorporating some very nice bits from third party manufacturers. I would love to hear what you think as I am prepping these for the painting table.

Be'lakor The Dark Master

Hello everyone

I have been working on this model for quite a long now and only recently I have decided to finish it at last. Ever since the release of Be'lakor's dataslate I wanted to play with him, but unfortunately I didn't have the model, so I have decided to make one converting a wonderful model I had from Andrea Miniatures, Astaroth the Annihilator.

The model is heavily coverted especially in the head so that to resemble the horned figure of Be'lakor. Lots of other minor conversions have been done to the whole model with sculls and chains and of course a huge chaos symbol on his chest

Here are some WIP shots before painting!

One thing that bugs me is the sword, which is insanely thin, it can bend so easily that I am really afraid that it will eventually snap, especially if I decide to use it for gaming purposes. Oh well, you may eventually see a different version of him featuring a different sword

I have also submitted this model to Golden Vinci 2014 Online Competition, follow the link to check it out

Thank you for your views and as always your votes and comments are more than welcome! Check him also on CoolMiniOrNot!

the Empire strikes back

My relationship with Warhammer Fantasy was always a weird one. Is like having this really cool relative that you love so much but you rarely get to see or visit, you always learn news though and try to contact him as much as you can.

I don't know if I managed to give you a picture here or I confused you more but the thing I'm trying to say is that I love this game so much but due to a bunch of reasons, I don't get to play or paint Fantasy any more... which is really sad cause I absolutely love my 2 main armies... Skaven and The Empire

If you happen to follow my blog here, you may have noticed some articles in the past talking about my never ending Skaven project. But I recently noticed that my blog doesn't contain any reference on my aeons old Empire project, as well as my single most favorite creation of all times, my Steam Tank Invictus. Another thing that makes it even weirder is that I got the model on my blog's banner from the beginning but I never got the chance to show it fully (unless you've seen it over in Coolminiornot or Deviantart)

Anyways... cutting the story shorter I would like to present you my Empire stuff!

The slideshow below shows some more projects that were left unfinished giving you an idea on what I would like to do with my models and what a big fan I am of the gun powder of Nuln :P

With all these said and done its easy to say that I got my Empire fever getting high again! I really need a break from all my 40K projects so get ready for a new Empire update really soon! ;)
